Event Day Schedule

Participant Registration: 6:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.

Pre-run Warmup: 7:30 a.m.

Competitive 5K run and walk: 8:00 a.m.

Kids Fun Run: 8:30 a.m.

Awards Ceremony: 9:00 a.m.

Family Festival: 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Route Map

Route Information

Race starts on southbound Waugh just south of West Dallas. Runners go north on southbound Waugh, east on outbound Allen Parkway, U-turn and run west on inbound Allen Parkway, Runners exit Allen Parkway (Main Lanes) and continue west on Allen Parkway service road, and then go south on northbound Waugh to finish at D’Amico. HPD will close the surrounding streets of the race at 7:00 a.m. and hard stop of race course at 7:40 a.m.

Parking

Free parking is available at America Tower Garage Extension next to the AIG Building. Please view the AIG Campus map for reference.

Directions from I-10: Access Garage by traveling south on Shepherd and turning left onto W. Dallas

Directions from 59: Take Shepherd exit and travel north to W. Dallas Turn right on W. Dallas

Volunteers will be available to direct you to the parking garage on W. Dallas and Waugh. HPD will close the surrounding streets of the race at 7:00 a.m. and Allen Parkway will close approximately one hour before the race.

Parking is not allowed in the Whole Foods Market parking lot. Violators could be towed. 

Participant Information

All registered participants must have their numbers pinned to the front of their shirts or shorts. Runners should line up first at the starting line, and walkers must line up behind the runners. Walkers with strollers should line up behind walkers without strollers.

Please note: pets, skates, bikes, skateboards and hoverboard are not allowed.

Post-Race Family Festival

We invite you to join us for a post-race family festival that begins at 8:30 a.m., immediately following the race. The festival offers free food, drinks, festival games and music.  Awards will be announced from the event stage beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Water, Restroom Facilities & Medical Aid

Water is available along the race route. Bottled water is available at the FINISH line. Portable restroom facilities and emergency medical personnel are located at the FINISH area along D’Amico Street. If you need medical attention while on the route, ask water station personnel or race volunteers to call for assistance. There is a medical aid tent in the festival area.

Results & Awards

All finish times will be based on starting gun time. After the run, please wait at the Awards Tent to for your race results. A total of $500 cash prize overall will be awarded to overall winners, female and male, and $250 cash prize to overall masters female and male. Complete race results will be available no later than 14 days after the race at Houstonrav.org.

The family walk is a non-competitive event, and no awards will be given. All Kids Fun Run participants will receive a finisher’s medals.

All registrations are final. No refunds will be issued. If you register for the 2018 Race Against Violence and are unable to participate, or if the event must be cancelled, we will consider your registration fee a donation to Houston Area Women’s Center to benefit those affected by domestic and sexual violence.
